I recently heard a story of an experiment using Prozac on a Dog
with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. The Dog was obsessivly gnawing
at a log in the owners backyard and the Prozac made him stop.
I am sure that my details are sketchy. Is anyone familiar
with this report? Can I find it on-line somewhere?
- Thanks

Hi, I just have a fairly simple question to ask. What is the
mechanism of function of anaesthetics and Xylocaine in
particular? Specifically, I am interested to know how Xylocaine
"freezes" skin and tissues on contact (ie surface contact) and
how it "freezes" nerves and tissues on injection. As I am just
a third year science undergrad with some medical knowledge,
please don’t soar high above my head with complex descriptions.
Thanks for any help!

my opinions aren’t worth the electrons they’re made of
and certainly not those of my employer.
Could anyone please give us information on treatment of schizophrenia with
either Risperidone and/or Clorazil?

TEGRETOL :
I heard something about new side effects being discovered, but my source of
information is very unreliable.
Are there any side effects that have recently been reported?
I’ve searched through the available literature (Medline), the PDR, the
package inserts and contacted the manufacturers, but can find no
significant data about the long term effects of chlortrimeton use.
I suspect that there are many people who have chronic allergies and have
found it necessary to take chlortrimeton on a daily basis for years. I’m
interested in hearing about experiences, both negative and positive.

I used to buy melatonin tablets at my local health nut store, and
found them to be very effective for treating insomnia. When I
researched this compound on PaperChase, everything was good and
rosey.
Now they tell me that they can no longer sell it OTC.
Can somebody explain the FDA’s reasoning, here?
