My father suffers from a severe assending neuropathy. While IV gamma
globulin temporarily slows its progress, his condition continues to
worsen. I have come across research which would appear to imply that
Superoxide dismutase and/or catalase in dosages of 10,000 units/kg is
very effetive in mitigating further nerve damage in Experimental
Autoimmune Neuritis.
Can anyone advise of any dangers, side-effects, contraindications in the
use of IM Superoxide dismutase at these dosages?
Could it be used in conjunction with the gamma?
I would appreciate any info you might be able to supply.
Thank-you

We are considering the manufacture and marketing of an ambulatory infusion
pump for the use of outpatient pharmacies. The pumps is based on the
highly accurate peristaltic pump similar to the Baxter AS30 with a very
low cost disposable but would really appreciate some feedback from users
who are familiar with the applcations before we invest.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Is there any commentary from the readers about the current rash of
irresponsibility of such individuals as Greg Luganis and others that put
their doctor’s and fellow humans at risk? The latest in this apparent
litany of irresponsible people are those that take flights with active TB
as witneseed in today’s New York Times. What should the status be of these
new "Typhoid Marys" that are that are putting others at risk? Should the
government check all people arriving from such places as Bangladesh for
TB, etc. Should there be an international health card to preclude the
possible spread of a disease such as TB? All of us that read this section
know that medication compliance is a problem. Does any one have any viable
ideas on this subject? Should the government get more involved before TB
becomes pandemic in US?
Where does the responsibility lie, if the "carrier" is irresponsible?
Dear sci.med and other readers,
I have heard it said that apple seed contain a poisonous
substance, such as (?) cyanide, and are thus poisonous to eat.
Of course, the rest of the apple is fine.
Which poison, if any, is in apple seeds, and how much is there of it?
How much would one need to eat over what period of time before this
became a danger?
Please direct responses to me, d…@cs.monash.edu.au , rather than to
the newsgroups.
I can send a collated list of responses to individuals or to the
newsgroups.

I begin pharm classes in the fall. When I have my degree, I would like
to work in a hospital, do some research, and go back to school (Pharm D.).
Are those in hospitals as unsatisfied with their jobs as those in retail?
What is the work atmosphere like? Is there a difference in salary?
Please tell me (us) what your days consist of. Any info would be
appreciated:)
Thanx,
Linda
Hello,
We came across a product named Guarana, from wich people said
that it is a stimulating product, with danger of addiction. Nevertheless
it is an ingrediā°nt of alternative ‘healthy’ products. So is this
information correct? What are the exact effects and side-effects of
Guarana?
