Can Loratadine cause EKG abnormalities?

I take Loratadine (Lisino here in Germany) for my hay fever during
spring and summer.

I read that Terfenadine, another antihistaminic, was found to cause
a prolonged QT time in a few cases with possible severe consequences.

Is anything known about similar side effects of Loratidine?

Interesting question, as a matter of fact, I do have the answer to your
question.  Loratadine is a "newer" antihistamine just like Terfenadine and
Astemizole (Hisminal).  Regarding the "prolongation of QT interval", none
of these drugs cause that when taking alone UNLESS TAKING WITH ERYTHROMYCIN,
there is a drug-drug interaction between Terfenadine + Erythromycin,
Astemizole + Erythromcin, it is to my knowledge Loratadine will NOT cause
the prolongation of QT interval by itself.

Hope this will help you to relieve your worries, please do not be hesitate
to ask more questions about Loratadine or any others.
