Can anyone steer me towards a book or other source of info on multiple
drug/cumulative interactions? My father (age 75) is on about 9-10 daily meds
and suffers from short term memory loss. His GP is diagnosing Alzheimers, but
before I accept this I would l
ike to rule out other possibilities. I am prepared to accept this diagnosis,
but I think I’d be a fool not to do a little research.
Thanks, R. Phillips

Well, that’s certainly worth pursuing, especially if some of these
drugs affect the central nervous system. While reading a drug reference
of one sort or another might be helpful, I’d also recommend that you make an
appointment to talk to his doctor and your pharmacist expressing these
concerns. Both of them would have a "big picture" and an understanding
of these drugs’ side effects and interactions to a degree that a layperson
wouldn’t.
