I can use some help with a consult from the folks in the group.
A doctor is asking about references to high serum triglycerides in the
500-600 range causing increase in blood viscosity enough to cause a
stroke in a patient. Has anyone any info on high triglycerides causing
blood viscosity increases sufficient to cause stroke? Are there any
indications for the use of Gemfibrozil in stroke? All my references
say Gemfibrozil should not normally be used unless serum triglycerides
are in excess of 1000 and I can’t find any references to high
triglycerides being a primary cause of stroke. Any help or references
would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
