Since in other threads several individuals have made comments of the form
I’ve thought that this newsgroup was for … I thought that it would be
useful to review the original proposed purpose of this newsgroup.
As I remember the original call for votes for sci.med.pharmacy called
for the formation of an unmoderated newsgroup for the
‘discussion of topics of general interest in the areas of pharmacy
practice, the pharmaceutical sciences, and pharmacy education.’
For anyone who wants to debate me on this, I will not respond. I am only
providing this as a background to newer readers of this newsgroup. I
don’t want to debate the merits of the above, or what is pharmacy
practice, the pharmaceutical sciences, or pharmacy education. I am also
aware that a newsgroup is defined by it’s readership. As I said I’m only
trying to provide background for those individuals who may not be
familiar with the original stated purpose.
