[Fwd: Who formulates custom-mixed vitamins/minerals?]

September 2nd, 2010

I am looking for a source of custom formulated vitamins and minerals for
my own use.  Does anyone know who provides this kind of service?  I am
not interested in herbal-type products for a number of reasons.

Thanks everyone.

Trolamine Salicylate

September 1st, 2010

I have been suffering for some weeks from pain in the inner
part of the upper arm extending to the elbow, due to lifting
weights (doing exercises that are a bit similar to arm curls in
that they involve pulling weights toward the chest).   I’m
guessing that this condition may be similar to "tennis elbow"
(but I don’t really know).   Anyway, I do not wish to take any
systemic anti-inflammatory.   All of them irritate a stomach
condition I have.   So, not knowing what to do for this (besides
rest the arm and doing alternative exercises), I have begun
rubbing Trolamine Salicylate (10%) cream on the affected part.
Trolamine Salicylate is the active ingredient in "Sportscreme"
and other OTC creams.   On the outside of the tube It says "deep
penetrating," but I’m wondering whether the active ingredient
really can reach the source of the inflammation and pain.   (More
generally, I wonder whether other creams actually really reach
their target, for example the Benadryl creams.)   Anyway, I would
appreciate it if someone can inform me whether this cream or any
other cream (or some other topical remedy) can be effective in
reducing the inflammation and pain in my upper arm and elbow?

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

how perishable is Aspirin?

September 1st, 2010

I have a need to store a stash of aspirin for,
say, five years.    How perishable is Aspirin?
How can I extend its shelf life?

- Can it be kept open?
– Can it be kept in a sealed container at room teperature?
– Does it make sense to keep it in the fridge?
– In the freezer?

Thanks for any expert advice.

Is the test the same?

September 1st, 2010

Is the pregnancy-test you have for free at a clinic the same as the one you
can do with a home-pregnancy-test-kit ? Is the test more reliable if done at
a clinic?

Is it the same test ?

September 1st, 2010

Is the pregnancy-test you get for free at a clinic the same kind of test as
the one you do with a home-pregnancy-test-kit ?  Is it more reliable if you
have it done at a clinic ? Will the clinic referr you to another doctor if
you don`t wan`t an abortion ?

Need some opinions, please

I apparently have ankylosing spondilitis.  Doctors aren’t much help –
the attitude is that you are female, therefore your condition/pain is
not as severe as men = no treatment :(

Anyway, I apparently took too much salmon oil and wound up rather
constipated.  I took Phillips Milk of Magnesia.  It worked slowly but
ok.  What I noticed was that the joint pains decreased.

Does anyone know why?  Am I not eating enough Mg?  Or not absorbing
enough?  Thanks!  MA

Home Pregnancy Tests and drugs

September 1st, 2010

I have polycystic ovarian disease so it is not rare for me to miss my periods.

After I had my children, my periods were regular until now.

I recently had a tough time with panic disorder and I am on Klonopin, Tenormin
and Zoloft.

Would these medications affect the results of a home pregnancy test?

I have missed two cycles and I definately feel and look pregnant.  All signs
are there, but three different tests were negative.

Please tell me if you know.
