Hi, all,
The subject line asks it all. I’ve been taking 40 mg of Prozac
(20 mg first thing, 20 mg more at lunch) for a little over a month now.
(I won’t go over how much better my mind feels after this regimen.)
Instead, I’d like to ask others taking Prozac whether they experience
unusual dreams. The night of the first day of taking the Prozac
(20 mg/day for the first week), I had a clear dream vision that I
could not readily relate to the previous day’s experiences, nor any
other recent thoughts. I gave this no further thought until the other
night, when I awoke about 5:00 am – at least several hours before I
generally rouse. While awake I decided to take my morning medications,
and then feeling relaxed after a warm shower, went back to bed. What
followed in the next three hours were sequences of the most varied
and fantastic dream images I’ve ever experienced – not at all unpleasant!
I am curious whether anyone else has experienced this phenomenon while
on Prozac, and if so, did your experience correlate with taking it at
odd or unusual hours? Just wondering …

I am on 40 mg of Paxil which my doctor was similar to Prozac.
I started about 3 months ago and I too have been experiencing
some really some strange dreams – almost to the point of being
very realistic and I have to question myself later in the day
if it was really a dream. Taking the above dosage btw has
definitely improved my depression so I am reluctant to change
medications but the dreams are wierd and totally unrelated to
what I have either been doing or thinking about.

I have noticed the exact same thing. I am taking the same dosage. In
fact, I was dreaming that a bunch of people came over and had a nude-in this
morning. My dosage was increased to 40mg about a week ago and I have noticed
these effects since Monday.
