I have taken Flexeril for TMJ syndrome, and I can attest that it’s a VERY
sedating drug.  I can barely function after 10mg during the day, but that
seems to wear off after a while.  It’s not a pleasurable sensation, nor
is it disphoric, it’s just SLEEPY.  Given the other things she could be
taking for sleep (benzodiazepines, barbiturates) I think Flexeril is an
excellent choice.  It is not addictive, and you seem to wake up more
refreshed that with benzodiazepines.  I’ve wondered why this is not used
more often for sleep.  Every time I’ve tried benzodiaepines, I get very
strange side effects and gradual habituation.  Getting off them can be a
hair-raising experience.  Never again!
