I am interested in side effects and risks with benzodiazepines.
(e.g. Valium, Serax, Ativan, Xanax, Halcion)

These drugs seem to be much more dangerous than previously assumed
(1,2,3,4). I am currently compiling an archive of experience-based
narrative reports of problems with these substances. There has been a
lot of interesting responses confirming the opinion that this is a very
important issue and I am greatly indebted to all contributors whose
identities, as I promised, will be kept a secret when this material
will be used to corroborate the experiences of a lot of people who need
support as a result of their benzodiazepine use.

I know of several people who have had problems due to these compounds
and some of us are now working together in order to support other
people who have had related problems and we find this information very
valuable when supporting and informing them.

Any further contributions and/or correspondence are *mostly* welcome.

Thank You for Your great response !

Johnny Sand

Reply to: Johnny.S...@masda.hv.se

1 ASHTON, Benzodiazepine Withdrawal: Outcome in 50 Patients
BRITISH JOURNAL OF ADDICTION
82 665-71 1987

2 BIXLER/KALES Adverse Reactions to Benzodiazepine Hypnotics
PHARMACOLOGY
35 286-300 1987

3 MILLER N S Benzodiazepines: Reconsidered
ADVANCES IN ALCOHOL AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE
8 (3/4) 67-84 1990

4 Personal communications

More literature and references on problems related to the
benzodiazepines can be obtained from me.
