RE: Vaccine urgently needed…
I guess the emergency request is related to one
of these infectious agents (where vaccination is usually optional
but in epidemic cases might be extremely urgent)
1. Infection by Neissseria meningitis causing severe meningitis
and is considered to be endemic (e.g. in Nepal / vaccination recommended/)
or epidemic (might be in appeal countries)
Vaccine is available commercially. I can contact person responsible
and if not further response, give details on manufacturer within 12 hrs
or so.
2. Infection by Pneumococci, often causis pnemococcus sepsis in
patients without spleen. Vaccine (polyvalent) is recommended.
Manufactured by Merieux, France. Non-endemic, non-epidemic. Name: PNEUMO VAX !!
